An international symposium organized by Marine Acoustics Society of Japan (MASJ)
Pacific Rim Underwater Acoustics Conference (PRUAC) is the first international conference organized by the Marine Acoustics Society of Japan, dedicated to advancing research in underwater acoustics. The conference actively encourages participation from early-career researchers and promotes interdisciplinary discussions across the acoustics community. Approximately 100 participants from countries throughout the Pacific Rim are expected to attend. The Scientific Committee, listed below, is composed of internationally recognized experts in the field. The 8th PRUAC will address not only physical and biological acoustics, but also the harmonization of marine engineering activities with environmental protection. The Pacific Ocean provides abundant resources—including energy, minerals, food, and genetic biodiversity—and the utilization of these resources inevitably involves noise and other impacts. This conference will serve as a timely and appropriate platform for addressing these emerging societal challenges. PRUAC will be held in Tokyo for the first time, a major international hub offering excellent global air connections. All participants will be welcomed with the city’s renowned safety, warm hospitality, and exceptional cuisine.
